  • Purging hot water base boards

I recently did some modifications to me base board heat, and now i get all sorts of sounds coming from the pipes. What is the best way to purge air from the pipes?

    Thanks.

Open the inlet water valve and start your inflow to the system. Crack the fitting on your return line a bit Watch and listen. When you have solid water flow from the return line, tighten the return fitting and shut off the inlet. Start your system. At the expansion tank there should be a bleed valve. Open this slightly. When the system builds pressure and the recirculator turns on air should come out. when there's hot water coming out, shut off the bleeder.
