Moen Single Handle Problem

HELP!!! I'm not a rookie /w plumbing but this one has me stumped. Replaced our Moen Single Handle Kitchen cartridge /w genuine 1225 cartridge. Works fine EXCEPT, it now doesn't have any stop position for the cold/hot turns. I could turn it a 360 if the backsplash didn't stop the handle. What did I do wrong??? HELP!!! Thanks, in advance.

sounds to me as if you did not get the handles to set down fully onto the valve. Try removing the retaining screw, align the stop knob on the valve assembly to the slot in the handle, set it back on and push down making sure it is fully seated, then install the screw and try again
