  • Can you cut swanstone?

I'm installing a shower stall in an older home.

All of the kits are two or three-panel, but my stall will be three walls plus a small return wall of about 10".

I was thinking I would by the 36" x 48" x 72" kit and then cut the 48" wall down to 36" (which is all I need) and using the drop to make up my return wall.

Can anyone tell me if Swanstone can be cut to any size? If not, where can I buy just plain panels of specific sizes?

    Thanks

    Chris

ANYTHING can be cut. If they can cut diamond, they can cut anything. I am not sure how it is done, but you could call up a company that custom makes like Corian countertops or something and ask them. Or, maybe a tile store would know. Maybe evena home center knows. A diamond saw surely would, but I wonder if carborundum would suffice, and if water is required.

Let's see if someone else knows.

Wet diamond saws cut or rather abrade ceramic which is pretty hard. Sandstone go with a 10 inch diamond wet saw. You can probably rent one at one of those DIY stores.
