  • Sink Drain Pipes

I have plastic drain pipes for my double kitchen sinks and garbage disposal. Over the course of 13 years the elbows and traps have come loose.

Is there something to do to make them more secure? Do the plastic washers that are supposed to secure the drainpipe to the elbow, etc. wear out?

    Ralph,

    Welcome to the forum.

If it is just the compression ring ( usually white) that has become brittle or shrunk you can replace it and tighten the compression nut again. If cemented joints have come loose you will need to cut the old fittings off and cement new ones on. Post back with more details on the fittings if you want further info.

    Good luck, Jim
