cold water from the hot side of the faucet

Hello,

I just moved in to a "new to me" older house built in the 70's, problem is with the bathroom sink water supply....the faucet it a delta single knob, and when I turn on the hot water i get cold ( the cold works fine ), I turned off both valves under the sink and tried them 1 at a time both are sending plenty of water its just always cold, the hot water in the rest of the house works great, any ideas, thanks in advance

How's the tub/shower in the same bath?
Any single handle Moen or, Mixet valves in the equation?
Have you got a hot recirculation system?

the tub along with all othe hot water outlets in the house work fine.....yes the tub has a single knob delta faucet

What I am suspecting is a hot/cold cross connection where the cold flow wins and that is all that gets supplied to that faucet.

There are a few possibilities among them Moen single handle valves, improperly functioning hot water recirculation loops, or even a slop sink where the hot and cold water can be left on and the water turner off at the spout.
