  • natural gas for grill

    HELLO EVERYBODY !!! long time!

I have wanted to tap into the gas line and run a line outside for the grill for years.

I found this link which describes what i want to do!

I'd like to do most of the work before I get raped by the contractor.

I'd contract him to TEE the line, but I want to punch through the wall and install black pipe as in the picture out side.

    QUESTIONS:

    • Black pipe goes through the wall and out like in the picture.
    • yellow flex attached to the black pipe at the wall on the inside
    • keep the same flex line diameter in the TEE and black pipe until outside then reduce as needed to appliance?

    thanks in advance..
It\'s sometimes better to be lucky than smart.

coated black pipe underground to the appliance. double walled flex to the appliance. drip loop at the appliance and a gas shutoff at the appliance.

You might want to find the contractor first that is willing to do just the physical connection of your run line to the main line, in most cases they won't be willing to do so as they become responsible for your new line once they connect it to the main. You may well find one that says he'll do it but I can guarantee you that he's going to look at your line to cover his butt and he'll probably charge you for that one way or the other.

I don't believe gas piping is a hobby.

But is the line sized big enough for the additional appliance?
I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
