Laminated Beams

I need 2 35' x 8" laminated beams but I found a great deal on 36' x 12".
Can I rip them to 8"?

The short and safe answer is no, laminated beams are laminated (made) at their final widths. You could call a laminated beam manufacturer preferably the one that made the "great deal" beams and ask them. Glulam is one company.
