    OK, now that I have virtually every ceiling down in my house (except the room I live in now.. LOL) I can see the overhead wiring. The wiring is that sheilded type, I think it's called BX. I am wondering can I just lay insulation over it? It appears to be on good shape. No breaks in the armor, etc. I don't want to rewire the whole attic by the way. You know the "If it isn't broke, don't fix it"

    BX is the metal jacketed cable, if that's what you have (or NM) then your okay to go ahead and lay insulation over it, under it or around it.
