    late posting

sorry, this is a little late, but - find out the wattage of the lamp and divide it by the voltage applied, you'll get the total amps.

110 volt primary will do the job for you. Make sure that all the joins and wiring are correct and HayZee518 is right about the AC/DC, it doesn't matter much.

.5 Kva buck-boost transformer 120 volt primary 12/24 volt secondary. the bulb doesn't care if its voltage is AC or DC.

What size transformer would I need to power a 12 volt headlight from a car. I want to make a worklight of sorts with it. I know 12 volt of course, but what amp rating? I have one that is 12 vdc / 2 amp, is that enough?
