  • Best Stencil Materials for Rough Surfaces and Reuse

    Hello everyone,

How does the choice of stencil material (plastic, mylar, or paper) impact durability and ease of cleaning for repeated use on rough surfaces?

  • #2
Hi! When it comes to stencil materials, plastic and mylar are generally more durable and easier to clean compared to paper. Both plastic and mylar can withstand repeated use, especially on rough surfaces, without tearing or wearing out quickly. They’re also non-porous, so paint or other mediums wipe off easily. Paper stencils, on the other hand, tend to be less durable and can absorb paint, making them harder to clean and more likely to get damaged after a few uses. For projects involving rough textures or multiple uses, mylar is often the preferred choice because it’s flexible, tough, and easy to maintain.

    Hope this helps!
