  • How to repair a Loose Toilet Paper Holder

    Hello,

My bathroom toilet paper holder is danglering on the wall. I removed the screw and anchor, replaced a big one. However, it didn't work at all.
The hole was enlarged and the anchor was dropped down into the hollow space which likes a black hole.

    How to fix it?
    Should I repair the drywall?

    Thanks.

use a fastener called a "toggle bolt." this has a long screw with a nut that springs open within the hollow wall space.

      TP Holder Repair

The toggle bolt is the quick thing to try first. If that does not work, then you can get a very sturdy solution by cutting out a drywall square bigger than area, putting in backing strips, and then placing a patch piece attached to the backing strips, making sure that the backing strips are in the location of the screws holding on the TP holder. Finish, prime and paint. For a small hole in the middle of a sheet of drywall, taping is not needed since no cracking will occur on the seam.
