My advice would be to try and get it down. The foil of which you speak is a pain to work with. Generally, with a lot of elbow grease, it will come down. You could use joint compound to repair any damage you do to the walls. Hope that helps

Foil & flocked wallpaper
I recently removed the last homeowners solution to any problem, 1/4" drywall. Under this I found some "lovely" green and gold foil with brown flocking wallpaper. This stuff defies removal and I can tear up any thing.Thing is, the flocking will show thru almost any covering I can think of.Anyone got any ideas on removal of this foil stuff from the 1950's. Or ideas to cover. I've used venitian plaster in the past but only Behr. ThanksTags: None
