Repaint? Dont like the color

Hi,
I just finished painting my master bedroom with benjamin moore paint (amber waves) (tinted primer + 2 coats). The color came out a lot more brighter than we expected. It gives a bright orange glow especially at night time under lights. My initial thoughts were to wait and see if it grows into us. But my wife strongly feels that we should repaint.
If I were to repaint, Should I do a coat of white + a coat of primer (w/ tint on new color) + 2 coats? or should I just do primer + 2 coats? I have not removed the tapings so it would be easier to do it now rather than later.
Please advise.

Bullseye 123 made by Zinsser is a good water based primer that can also be tinted towards your final color. Just one coat of this should allow you to paint on your final color using either 1 or 2 coats. Here's a link giving all the details to their products. You'll find Zinsser at Home Depot

Thx Kactuskid! I was planning to use Benjamin Moore super spec primer w/ tint. Would that work well?

I wish I could say, I'm not a paint expert, I know BM makes good products, call one of they're stores and ask how it compares to the Zinsser. Remember on thing in paint is that you get what you pay for, so the more $$ the better the paint.

Amber waves??! Now that's patriotic! Would you two consider doing something other than doing another complete two coats? How about using one of those chopped foam rollers and use a darker shade of the same color? Or maybe a complimentary color to tone it down? Depending on how much rolling you do, you control the amount of light colored paint would be left showing. Could be bright by day, more calm in the evening.

I had close to a gallon left. So I took it to the paint shop and added white (1:1). That brought down the brightness or the glow. I repainted the room. It looks a lot better. Some of my friends suggested some faux painting or sponge rolling. But we are not experts in that. But adding white did the trick for us.
