    Hello everyone,

I have a problem I am attempting to resolve. I live in a cape cod with a floor and a half. One side of the house is vaulted ceilings while the other side is the upper bedroom. We have steps that go up to the upper bedroom adjacent to the wall. The ceiling is approx 18ft high. So you walk up the steps and when you reach the top there is a door leading to the upper bedroom, with a small loft to the right. I want to paint the wall adjacent to the steps.

In order to reach the peak of the ceiling on the wall adjacent to the steps is rather difficult. Other than a $300 dollar ladder, is there any tricks I can use to get some support for a scaffold or similiar.

Also the stairs turn 90 degrees near the bottom.

I hope I explained this adequately enough.

Set a ladder at the bottom and run a walkboard from the top to the ladder...then use a collapsable paint pole extension to reach the top.

I thought of that, but the ladder to the steps creates an awkward situation. The ladder does not stand properly due to one set of legs on 1 step and the other set of legs two steps up. I wasn't sure if that was stable enough to run a scaffold.
