How to remove water stains from exposed beams?

How does one remove water stains from exposed beams ceiling?. Some are on the beams. Some are on the ceiling boards (which are the underside of the floor above). The wood is not painted. The stains are probably a few years old. Some probably resulted from bathroom leaks, others from rood leaks, others from water infiltration around windows.

Try a wood bleach application. Try sanding down the stained area then paint with a sealer (clear)
