I am painting my daughters ceiling a lighter shade of purple than the darker purple walls. Her room is 10 x 11 and ceiling is right angle pitch about 15 ft high. Any idea's on how I can paint lighter purple ceiling color onto darker walls where the ceiling and walls meet? I want to make it look like the ceiling is overlapping the walls - maybe 4-6 inches into ceiling. How can I do this so there is a wavy or scalloped effect? Thanks.

I'm no expert, but I would say to free hand the scallop line with a smaller paint brush, then fill in with your roller. Anything that you do to try making it look like a clean edge will never be crisp enough and will end up looking like just that. It's also much more forgiving that it's a childs room, more playful and whimsicle.
