I am about to redo the bathroom, but I discovered a row of tiles that needed attention. I removed the delaminated tiles.
I dont use the upstairs shower, the wife and daughter do and they never mentioned or notice the faulty grout.
I pulled the tile, cleaned everything off, soaked the tiles in muriatic to clean thinset. I noticed the jam up job they did with the green board or whatever they used 60 years ago. Lame.
Anyway, the repair job is to reattach 4x4 tiles. The grout lines are 1/16”.
What sized notched trowel should i use?
i butter both the wall and tile?
Should I use something other than type1 Mapei tile adhesive
and the ultra color plus FA for the grout.
should i just use some super bathroom caulk instead of grouting this, since I will be redoing the entire bathroom in a few months?
this is a temp fix Before i first redo the tile floor, new toilet, sink.... then retile walls and so on. Wife and daughter want to be able to use shower until then. Lame. Thanks in advance cant post pictures. DATABASE ERROR. was is das?
