  • Nails In Drywall

About two years ago I purchased a house built in 1962. I noticed in many areas of the walls and ceilings there are nails. Seems odd to me someone would use nails to hang drywall. Or is that what they did back in the 60s? Or did the previous owners/renovators (bought from flippers) just get lazy and use nails, instead of screws, to hang drywayll?

    Thanks!

That is interesting. Screws were certainly around and in use for that application in 1962, although apparently not predominantly until around that time. I found an article about it and attached here. Thanks for bringing it up!
