  • Removing a Wall Mirror

I have a 4'x6' wall mirror that I want to remove. It's not held on by any adhesive. It fits top and bottom into metal retainer strips (like a J channel strip). It was professionally installed and I don't remember how they got it into those strips.

Would appreciate any help I can get on this.

Are there J channel strips on all four sides, or just top and bottom? If it is just top and bottom, then it probably slides to the left or right. Apply pressure to the top and bottom of one side evenly and see if it slides out. Use this method for both sides to try to jar it out if it is stuck. Does that help? Any other information you coud give us to help?

The strips should slide up on top. It may be hard to move at first but once it gets going they will probably fly off. Be sure you have someone to help. It that doesn't work, take a hammer and hit the mirror really hard in the center. Just kiddin'[)]
