just noticed this damage below window on roof. what is the best way to fix so water does not root wood

you'll hafta look further below the shingles to see if water is or already has infiltrated the sheathing. if water damage is evident below the shingles and sheathing there is a path water takes to get to the lowest level. you may need to remove the window to inspect the whole casing the window sits in.
