I have bought a craftsman style house and the pillar is leaning and started breaking away from the porch. is this something that a DIY'er can fix or is this something better left to a professional foundation repair guy? any input would be appreciated.

We would need to see an actual picture of the pillar in question, however any structural issue should be addressed by a qualified contractor.
