We purchased a home with a steel front door (about 7 years old). The door had been stained. The bottom third of the door looks to be sun and or weathered damaged. The stain is either worn off or is blotchy. I sanded the area lightly but I still can't get the gel stain to cover the area. Any suggestions?

My log splitter won't start, pulled the cord probably 30 times, it's not new but always ran fine before. Any idea what I'm missing
