  • Brass Coach Lamp

I want to find the best way to clean a brass side door coach lamp. It's the original that came with the home (35yrs old). It's still in decent shape and I took it off the wall and disassembled it. It must have been expensive at the time because the 3 glass sides are triangular cut and 1/4" thick. The rest of the fixture is solid brass. Very pitted but thats all.
This is my daughters home and I'm staying with her for awhile and I'm trying to find somethings useful to do. Thanks for any help.

a product called BRASSO is good for cleaning copper and brass. it has a fine grit with a chemical that cleans the patina of the brass. once you shine it up, protect its finish with an aerosol spray on clear varnish.
