    Aluminum gutter with steel fascia

I've read that having steel in contact with aluminum can cause the aluminum to corrode. I'm getting estimates on gutters, fascia, and soffit for my house and one bidder is suggesting aluminum soffit and gutters with steel fascia. He says they never had problems with it. Should I be concerned.

The aluminum siding, fascia and soffit is anodized prior to painting or powder coating. The anodizing forms an oxide which protect the aluminum from further corrosion. I wouldn't worry about the steel and aluminum and corrosion. the steel is pretty much inactive as an electrode where corrosion is concerned. If the nails were galvanized then I'd worry. The galvanizing process deposits zinc onto steel. zinc is an active metal.

HayZee518, thanks for the great insight. Given both steel and aluminum, what material would be best for screws or nails going through both?
