adhesive for exterior use

We are building a gate and decided to use a lap joint to strengthen the gate frame. Gluing & screwing the lap joints together seems to be a good idea.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what kind glue to use for this outdoor application?

Glue and screw, weeeeee

PL400 should work fine, as long as wood is dry when applied.
