    Sealing Outside Brick

My daughter has a friend that is in the process of replacing some windows in a large brick home. The window people told her that she needed to have the brick sealed. They said that you should seal the brick every 2 years. Has anyone ever heard of sealing brick?

    Sealing brick

Yes -- I recommend a clear oil based product. The oil soaks into the brick and prevents water from entering the brick. If you don't do this water soaks into the brick and then in the winter freezes and explodes the brick from the inside, popping the face of the brick off.
