  • Looking for part on Sears Craftsman motor

I've been trying to find the part encircled in red in the picture. I am not sure what it's called, so I've been calling it a U-clip.

All the online and brick and mortar retailers have the locking collar instead of this U-clip. Any ideas where and how I can get one of these? It's 1/2".

    Thanks!

If U-clips truly can't be acquired, would I need to file down flat surfaces for the allen screws at the 3 and 12 o'clock positions of the motor shaft? The problem with the locking collar is that the allen screws hit the sensor board when they turn.

The early opener has shorter allen screws to clear the rpm sensor. It's hard to find parts for the old openers. File/grind down your allen screws or check what they have at Home Depot/Lowes.

Thanks TJR! I'll file down that allen screws. Found no joy at Lowe's and Home Depot was less-than-helpful.
