Need to replace the metal to which the opener bracket attaches

As the attached photo shows, the metal piece to which the opener bracket attaches has split, and I need to replace it. I've removed all of the bolts, but the metal piece seems to be cemented to the metal garage door. Any ideas on how I remove this metal piece without damaging the garage door?

if you haven't done it yet, I would not try to take off the style, but make it as straight as possible and then put a piece of pre punch angle iron inside the style and bolt screw it all together. Check your door for balance.
