OverHead TouchnGo 1000A doors taken out by power surge.

Had a power surge do to electrical panel issue that took out my touch n go doors. According to the manual and wiring schematic these units have internal surge protectors. However, other then pushing the door buttons to restart the doors there does not seem to be a way to reset/restart these units? There is power to both units. Am wondering if I have to replace the surge protectors to reset these units? Thanks for any input.

a surge protector is basically a solid state spark gap. a surge will arc over to ground and may fuse the diode to ground. yup, the whole thing will need to be replaced.

      Thanks

Appreciate the reply! So, are you saying that I need to just replace the surge protectors or the circuit boards as well? Thanks again. F
