  • Garage door bottom seal

I just purchased a home that has twin 9 foot garage doors. It appears to me that the bottom seals are worn and cracked. How difficult a process is it to replace these seals without hiring a professional to do the work? Thank you !!!

seals are screwed into the bottoms of the doors. go to a garage door site and find your seal. instructions are supplied with the seal.

Sometimes they even just slide in from a end......way to easy a job.

        Bottom seal

Wether you have a wood door or steel door, often you can find the parts at a hardware store or a garage door company. For a wood door all you need is the foam or rubber weather seal and some roofing nails. After removing the old bottom seal and nails, all you have to do is nail the new piece on.

For steel doors the bottom seal often slides out one end and you simly slide the ne piece on, overlapping the ends and folding the excess inside itself.
