  • HOW TO FIX 2ins. OPENNING OF MY G/DOOR

    Hi Gang (Newbie Here)

First of all; this looks like a really GREAT FORUM.

    Now down to my situation:

My Garage Door Won't Close Completely

The door comes down and doesn't close completely. It STOPS 2ins. before it closes.

    How Can This Be Fixed

    Any situation gang.

    Thanks

    GOD BLESS YOU ALL

does the door normally go lower than it is without the door opener hitched up or is the panel normally at the bottom of its travel leaving a two inch reveal? if the door physically closes all the way try adjusting the down travel limit switch.

      Travel limits

Sounds like a travel limit, but you want to make sure that there are no obstructions. If the opener is newer, it would reverse and go back up if there were an obstruction, older ones may not. they may just stop and shut down.

If it is older than say 15 years old and doesn't have all the UL325 requirements (safety beam, and auto reverse when hitting an obstruction), you would probably be in order thinking about replacement for the safety of your family.
