Craftsman Garage Door Opener

Hi All,

I have another question on Garage doors.

I've had two Craftman Garage Door Openers for 16 years and I am in the process of replacing one of them. I would like to use my old transmitters; however, I am not able to program them with the new unit.

The instructions mention a non-rolling code transmitter, which I presume is what I am trying to program, and recommend that they not be used for security reasons.

Is there any way for me to use these devices?

old remotes

Older remotes could be used if you can find a reciever to connect to your operator. I am not sure if you can find one or not. Generally we don't want to move backwards. Call some local dealers and find out if they have or can get a reciever for the pre-rolling code chambererlain operators, I believe it was their million code technology, that's what you need if you want to keep your old remotes in service.

Can I swap the receiver from my old unit and put it into the new one easy enough?
