I have a Genie trac drive opener. Model 810. The door goes up, but wont go down?? Both limit switches are working properly. Instead of reversing direction with each limit switch closure, it continues on up?? Circuit board problems??

    thanks

Usually when the door goes down but not up, it's the sensors causing the problem. First step is to ensure both sensors have solid lights (some openers have only 1 solid light on 1 sensor while the other one has no light). If not, then that's where the problem lies; either the wiring for the sensors or the sensors themselves. To make sure it's the sensors, here's a little test: Push and hold the button on the wall to make the door go down. If it works fine while you're holding the button, then it's definitely a sensor problem.

Track drives have not been manufactured for years and my guess is that you would have problems finding parts. It may be a circuit board but even if you could find one it would cost almost as much as a new one at the hardware store. I would recommend a belt drive.
