How to Open Garage Door Manually?

There are two main scenarios for opening a garage door manually: from inside the garage and from outside. Here's how to tackle each one:

Opening the Garage Door Manually from Inside
    1. Disengage the Automatic Opener: Start by finding the power source for your garage door opener. Unplug it to disconnect the opener from the door.
    2. Locate the Emergency Release Cord: Look for a red cord hanging down from the center track of the garage door. This is the emergency release cord, usually with a red handle.
    3. Pull the Emergency Release Cord: Give the emergency release cord a firm tug downwards. You should hear a clicking sound, indicating the trolley (the rail that connects the opener to the door) is disconnected.
    4. Lift the Door Manually: Now that the opener is disengaged, find the handle at the bottom center of the garage door. Lift the door by pulling this handle upwards until it's fully open. Be cautious, as the door can be heavy.
    5. Closing the Door: Once you're done, lower the door carefully using the handle on the outside.

Opening the Garage Door Manually from Outside
    1. Access the Emergency Release: Most garage doors have a small keyhole near the top that provides access to the emergency release cable. You'll need the designated key for this lock.
    2. Unlock and Pull the Emergency Release Cord: Use the key to unlock the emergency release and reveal the cable inside. Pull the cable down firmly to disengage the door from the opener.
    3. Unlock the Manual Lock (if present): Some doors may have a separate manual lock near the center. Use your key to unlock this if present, then turn the handle vertical.
