  • Exterior painted brick house

We have a tudor/english cottage brick house built in 1934. The pain or whitewash is chipping and we need to have the house power washed and repointed.
Can you recommend the kind of paint or whitewash that should be used. We want to do it in white again.

Basically, all you need is a good quality latex paint. Masonry will usually take paint easily, and in most cases you don't even need a primer. Most older style "PVA" latex will work well, as long as you want a flat finish. If you choose a darker color, consider 100% acrylic latex. The bricks will still be able to breathe, but it will resist chalking and fading much better .
