  • Best Carpet Defoamer for Heavy Foam Issues?

    Hey everyone,

I’m dealing with excessive foam buildup while using my carpet extractor, and I’m looking for an effective defoamer to solve the issue. I’ve come across one that looks promising, but I’d love to hear from others who have experience using it.

How well does it work in reducing foam without leaving residue? Does it affect carpet texture or cleaning performance? If you’ve used this or any other defoamer, I’d appreciate your insights on effectiveness and value for money.

Any recommendations or tips for best results?

      Hi there!

Foam buildup can definitely be a hassle when using a carpet extractor. While I don’t have direct experience using one, I know that a good defoamer should break down the foam without leaving residue or affecting the texture of the carpet. Most work best when added directly to the recovery tank rather than mixing with the cleaning solution.

If residue is a concern, silicone-based defoamers are often recommended since they are effective without interfering with the cleaning process. Using just a small amount usually does the trick, so there’s no need to overdo it. If excessive foam keeps building up, it might be due to leftover detergent from previous cleanings, so doing an extra rinse with plain water could help prevent that.
