Anyone with experince leveling there own foundtions?

most of the time it's done with a transit and range stick. In a pinch, since water seeks its own level use a length of garden hose with clear vinyl hose at both ends. fill the hose with water until you see the water in both clear hose pieces, then put one end where you want to start and bring the other end up or down till you see the water. these two points will be perfectly level.
