Mathais has rebuilt a couple of boards for a friend of mine here in Alaska. They seem to work OK. As a Toyo dealer I will not use them due to the liability issue. If the fuel pump circuit was to stick, you could have more trouble than you can stand. With a factory board the manufacturer would help out if there was a problem. I know they are expensive but the alternative is crazy expensive.
On a Monitor M441 or M422 everything is on the board. Transformer, fuel controls are built in. When you have a problem you end up replacing the whole board. They are very sensitive to voltage spikes. Sometimes the fuse will not protect the board. With a Monitor I use a voltage regulator that takes away any of the spikes.
