Replace laptop battery or upgrade laptop?

Is it worth replacing a laptop battery, or is it usually better to upgrade the whole unit instead?

Hi! It really depends on the age and condition of the laptop. If the machine is still running well, replacing the battery can be a quick and affordable way to keep it going for a few more years. Many batteries are easy to swap out at home or can be replaced by a repair shop for a reasonable cost.

But if the laptop is already slow, has other hardware issues, or is more than 5–6 years old, putting the money toward a new unit might be a better investment. In general, if the battery is the only problem, replacement is usually worth it.
