Power washer gun leaks

Hi All

this is my powerwasher and I have 2.

I have 2 powerwashers that leak.

I was just wondering if there are things to do generically to fix a leaking spray gun that gushes water when the trigger is depressed.

They all have little "O" rings in them that periodically need replacing. If there is a joint in the wand then there is an "O" ring.
Usually one at the tip connection, one at the handle extension and one on the handle. You can buy "O" ring kits at sears (yours is a craftsman I assume) or Lowe's/H Depot.

I took the gun apart and I found a tiny crack on the POS fitting, no doubt made across the Pacific Ocean. At 1800 psi, I can visualize the amount of water coming from this crevice. So, this is brass, couldn't I just clean this crack and sweat some solder on this crack? At 1800 psi, doubtful eh?

it might work. if it was anything large @ 1800 psi I'd have my doubts, but a small crack you might get by. use an acid flux.

I don't know if this will work? 1800 psi is nothing to blow off ( hahahahah !!)

valve?

is this part of the trigger valve? upon examination I see some broken threads inside it. don't know how it's put together but use teflon tape if you can and maybe a thin O ring

This is a cheap valve. there is a spring, a metal ball, a plug thing then the pin assembly that all screws into this cavity. This valve cracked along the top of the seam shown and you can see the crack on the inside in one of the images.

The gun is cheap enough, about $33 for the model, but it is worth a try to repair...I am about to go outside and see what happens.

I predict I have my doubts...

Well the fix lasted about 2.5 seconds then it blew.

No biggie, I wasn't optimistic on this solution.
