I appreciate your ideas and would welcome any more suggestions.
Another option is floating shelves paired with baskets. These baskets can be sized to fit snugly into the shelves and hold folded items or smaller objects like skincare products. It would keep everything accessible and visible without cluttering the area.
You could also install a pegboard with modular attachments for added flexibility, especially for things like jewelry, belts, or small bags. It’s functional yet stylish, and you can adjust it over time to meet different storage needs. If you’re open to working with a carpenter, a custom built-in unit tailored to those dimensions could blend a mix of cubbies, small cabinets, or even fold-down racks—ideal for seasonal items that don’t need constant access.
For the dressing area, one idea I love is a fold-down vanity. You could install a mirror on the wall, with a narrow, foldable tabletop beneath it. When closed, it would sit flat against the wall, freeing up space, but it’s there when you need a spot for makeup or daily prep. Between these ideas, you could transform those recessed walls into highly functional, stylish areas that meet your storage needs while keeping the room open and uncluttered!

Hi Jimmy! Thank you, would love your input in this. It is 73 inches in height, 25 inches in length and 9.5 inches in width.
Do you already have enough shelves and closet space or would this be a nice addition?
I am planning to use one of the recessed wall as a dressing table by attaching a mirror and maybe add some drawers. But another issue is with the width of these walls. Do you think I can add drawers with only 9.5 inches of width? I am open to all ideas.

What are the dimensions of the space? How deep is it? Do you already have enough shelves and closet space or would this be a nice addition? If you need the space for that I think you can make it very nice, but if you don't then it could really be a great focal point of the room! Let us know the dimensions so we can brainstorm with you!!

How about turning it into a cozy reading sanctuary by adding soft LED strips around the edges and installing a cushioned bench seat at the bottom? You could add a few floating shelves above for books and maybe hang a pendant light for reading. Think of it as your own little escape nook!

Hi DarkKnight!
Looking at that recessed wall niche, I can see a lot of potential for turning it into something really special! The clean, vertical space gives you plenty of room to get creative. If you're thinking about shelves, that's definitely a solid starting point - you could create a beautiful display area for books, plants, or your favorite decorative pieces. One really cool approach would be to turn it into a modern accent piece by installing LED strip lighting around the edges and creating a backlit display. You could showcase artwork, photographs, or even create a cozy reading nook if you add some built-in seating below (depending on the height). Or, if you're practical-minded, you could transform it into a super organized storage solution with a custom-built system that maximizes every inch of space.
