  • Central Vac Problem

Hi All - I'm new to the forum and I need help with my central vac.

I have a Nu Tone CV 353. No matter what inlet I plug it into, I get almost no suction on the hose end. The canister in the garage seems to be working however as it turns on at normal power, the air blower seems to be pulling through and blowing out air fine.

I assumed this indicated that the hose was clogged, but I ran a garden hose all the way through, didn't get a clog out, then tried again with no luck.

Could there be an obstruction somewhere in the pipes between the inlets and the canister? I haven't had a central vac before, so i'm at a loss!

there could be. take a shop vac and stick the hose onto the flap at the central vac hose connection and turn it on. might help if you disconnect the main hose at the vac's inlet.

Meaning disconnect the hose that goes into the cannister in the garage?

yeah so there won't be any back pressure. that way the lines will be clear. probably something at an elbow IMO.
