  • what can induce refrigeration coil not work?

    Hi,

My fridge was in short-circuit because something wrong with the refrigeration coils....so the technicians replaces 3 of them, which is very costly

I wanna know that how this situation can be induced ( i mean what outside soucing can induce the refrigeration coils not work).

    Thanks

If the condenser is on the back, jamming the fridge against a wall might do it. Getting the cord caught on the coils and pulling the unit out can bend a permanent short circuit in the coils. If its the evaporator, and the unit is not a frost free unit, using a knife or chisel to break up the ice will do it.

Laying a refrigerator on its side, even briefly can cause oil to leak out of the compressor which will later Collect in the lower portion of condenser coils.

In some cases allowing the refrigerator to stand upright for at least 24 hours before starting it might save it, but in many instances the oil will remain in the lower passes of the coils or can get into the capillary tube. If that occurs, often the cost of repair will nearly exceed the value of the refrigerator. Best rule of thumb, While it is necessary to tilt a refrigerator when moving on a hand truck, appliance dolly or manuevering up stairways, never tilt a refrigerator more than 45 deg from upright for any reason, and absolutely never transport a refrigerator on a truck or van laying on its side.
