  • Help me!

I recently bought a used electric stove. The stove has a 3 prong cord, but the plug has 4 prongs. Can you tell me if I can find an adapter or something so I won't have to buy a whole new cord?

I am not aware of any available adapters and even if they were available they would probably cost as much,, if not more than the new cord.
Elecric range cords are very easy to install and the 4 wire would dramatically improve the safety, therefore in my opinion, changing the cord is the only viable option.

The "new code" calls for a four prong receptacle on any range installed mobile home or new construction - so you'll need to buy a four lead cord for the range. The middle leg is white or neutral and may have the green ground connected to this. Remove the green wire and ground it to any metal part of the range frame, do the same with the new pigtail.
