Help! No crushed or cubed ice!

Have a Whirlpool Gold side by side refrigerator (GD22DQ) with in-door paddle for dispensing cruched ice or cubed ice (select by push button).

Nothing happens when the paddle is depressed (for either crushed or cube).

Paddle for dispensing water works, ice maker works, etc.

Is there a simple solution to this?[xx(]

Look inside the freezer and see if the ice maker is working correctly.

Icemaker is working fine - ice tray/bin is full and cubes are loose. In the past, when the dispenser arm was pressed to crush ice, you would hear the motor/dispenser activtate, regardless of the ice level.

Now, nothing happens at all, no motor sounds, nothing.

I'm hoping to revive this thread.

I have the exact same problem with a GE unit.
Icemaker makes ice just fine, water through the door works.
The ice dispenser does NOT work. The motor doesn't turn at all.
Is it a common problem for the motors to burn out, or is a controller more likely the culprit?

I have the exact same problem with a GE unit.

GE has made numerous fridge models over the years. Posting the appliance complete model number *right from the appliance's model and serial number tag* (not off an owner's manual or other paperwork) would allow us to find out which one you have.

Not very but also not totally unheard of. Have you at least checked it for continuity??

I'm afraid without knowing the specific appliance in question, there is no way to know what controller is even used in it.
