  • Dishwasher NOT WORKING HELP

13 month old Frigidaire Ultraquiet III....the other night I did some dishes and they did not come clean at all and there was about 3-4 inches of yucky water at bottom...so I emptied that all out by hand and then felt around for a clog or something and did find some bits of food...so I scooped that out and thought that would be it...I ran another Load and again lots of yucky water on bottom...so I am figuring it must be in the hose connecting to Garbage disposal??? how do I go about looking in that?? any other ideas??? ty so much!!

Is the motor running during the pump out cycle?

If the pump is running but not pumping the water out it sounds like the drain line may be stopped up....to check it, fill the dishwasher then move the timer to the drain cycle and when the pump starts look in the garbage disposal to see if its pumping out.

If it dont pump out, check the line under the sink to see if it might have been moved and got kinked in some way. If you find a kink, straighten it out and try the pump again.

sometimes you can take the line in your hands and bend it slightly to loosen a clog. Continue doing that for the lenght of the line, or as far as you can reach, then try pumping it out again.

Take the line loose at the disposal and see if the end of the line or the disposal inlet is clogged up (that is the most common point of a clog),

If it is not there and if you have a rubber hose discharge line, you can take the high loop loose, hold the end of the line over a bucket and carefully run a plumbers wire snake through the line.

You can snake a corrugated plastic line but you have to be very careful not to punch a hole in the plastic.
