I have a 6 year old Kitchenaid dishwasher (Model KUDR24SEBL3)that immediately runs the cancel cycle when you press the start key. When the dishwasher starts, the cancel LED immediately illuminates and the dishwasher runs the drain pump for several minutes and then the dishwasher stops. Pressing start again wil cause the dishwasher to run the cancel cycle again.
The Cancel switch operates freely, and isn't mechanically stuck.
I thought the float switch might be a problem (possibly the dishwasher was erroneously detecting the dishwasher was full of water when it tried to start) but after looking at the schematic the float switch is in series with the fill valve and opens the fill valve circuit when the dishwasher fills.
I ran the service diagnostics and the dishwasher fills, washes and drains properly.
Any idea what the problem might be?
