I was informed by the Sear's repairman that the switch or the outlet that connected to the garbage disposal was bad. I changed out bot the swith and the outlet, but now both the diposal and the dishwasher are controlled by the switch. I wired them both the same and I removed the copper tab on the copper side of the outlet (as it was done on the previous outlet). I am stumped. Please help.

I suspect you will find the problem at the switch location.
There should be a primary power wire feeding the switch with a second wire attached to the feed point that goes to the outlet to keep one plug constantly hot.
A second wire should attach to the opposite (swithed end) of the switch and connect to the opposite outlet, so that outlet is only live when the switch is on.
You state that both the outlets are either on or off depending upon the position of the switch, therefore both wires to the outlet must be attached to the switched terminal of the switch.
Disconnect one of the wires from the switched terminal and attach it to the line input terminal of the switch, which would then make that outlet live at all times while the opposite one will switch.

BTW. I believe I read here in the forums that there are special "T" rated switches which are suppose to be used for disposals. Maybe someone more familiar with electrical codes can conform that.

If that's the case and one wasn't there originally, it may be why the first failed prematurely?
