  • Kenmore Washer jumping around

Our 10 year old top loading washiing machine has just recently started jumping all over in the spin mode. This happens with a heavy load as well as a well balanced light wash load. IT HAPPENS ALL OF THE TIME and it never did before. Any ideas or suggestions before my wife makes me go to the laundramat until the the problem is fixed...

Couple of things can cause this. The worst being a floor gone bad from a leak, or just old age.
Next move the machine out and remove the access in the back, and look for the canteliever springs. They attach at the base and on the transmission collar, 120 degrees apart (that makes three springs). If one is broken or otherwise impaired, replace all three.
There are a couple of other more esoteric causes but look for rust and cracks in the support frame, and base.
Let me know how it goes
    Paul
