I'm afraid that limited description is not enough to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is the dryer *complete* model number as was requested you post in the very first forum message: Please include Make and Model # in postOriginally posted by Lougas dryer -GE profile-
And it still squeals?I changed the back bearing.
On most GE dryers, the front drum slides and also the idler (belt tension) pulley can cause such noises.

The drum rotates around the back bearing which supports the drum. The front part of the drum sits in felt "bearings" or silicone plastic "bearings" if you can call them bearings. Most times the front edge of the drum is coated with teflon which allows it to slip on the felts. When this wears down you have metal against the felt or silicone causing the squeal. I'm afraid the drum has outlived its usefullness.

It's pretty rare in my experience that so much damage is done to the dryer's drum that it needs to be replaced. Usually it is just the drum slides and bearings which are needed but actual observations will be required to determine problems with the drum.Originally posted by HayZee518When this wears down you have metal against the felt or silicone causing the squeal. That is a fairly typical, newer style, GE built dryer. Besides the rear drum bearing, the front drum slides (or whole bearing support - see the link below - if left run too long) or the idler pulley could be responsible for squealing or grinding noises. The motor itself might be a slight possibility as well.Originally posted by LouThe model no. is DDSR475GTSWW

I don't know if they will help but you can see some exploded parts views of your dryer at the following link:
